The
school is located in Panchgani, a well known hill station
in the Satara district of Maharashtra, India. Panchgani
derives its name from the five hills around it. At an altitude
of 1334 metres, it offers breathtaking views of the river
Krishna on one side and coastal plains on the other. Temperatures
vary from 35°C in summer to 16°C in winter.
Panchgani is famous for having Asia's second largest mountain
plateau aptly called 'Tableland'. The Tableland offers a
scenic view of the town 60 metres below as well as the surrounding
valley.
Panchgani also has a local hospital with paediatric and
orthopaedic consultants and facilities for any necessary
investigation and treatment.
Panchgani is easily accessible by road from Mumbai and Pune.
It is 270 kms from Mumbai and 98 kms from Pune, the nearest
airport as well as major railway station. Taxis and buses
are the main modes of travel to and from this serene location.
