ROAD : - There are two approaches to Panchgani from Mumbai.
From Mumbai via Pune (270 kms): This is an easy and comfortable drive along the Bombay - Pune expressway and then along the road to Satara, turning off at Wai for Panchgani on the Mahabaleshwar road.

From Mumbai via Mahad (266 kms): The second is via the Mumbai-Goa highway up to 'Mahad', Poladpur, and over the exciting and testing Fritzgerald Ghats (Mountain Pass) on to Mahableshwar & then down to Panchgani.

Approach to Panchgani from Mumbai and Pune

Private luxury buses and private taxis (chauffeur-driven or self-driven) as well as State transport buses and luxury coaches are available all through the day.

AIR : Though there is no airport at Panchgani, Pune City Airport is the nearest which is 98 kms away. The Mumbai Airport is 270 kms from Panchgani. From either locations, road travel is a must to reach Panchgani.
